The History of One Smartphone Per Village and its future

In 2020, in response to #connectrwanda, BCIEA had the fortune of receiving a pledge of 300 Smartphones towards Fighting Breast Cancer One Smartphone per Village from NCBA Bank and Mara Phone offered to update our Breast Cancer Awareness and Education APP, pro bono. Everything was moving forward until COVID-19 happened and we were unable to implement. Fast forward to 2025 and the emergence of AI we have been fortunate to resurrect the program with a new way forward. We developed an AI powered Digital Assistant that lives in WhatsApp named IROZA and is available via our village smartphones.
